10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge – Day 10

Day 10 – Celebrating Freedom!

The Challenge: To celebrate all that I have written, learned and experienced as part of this challenge.

To meet this challenge, I need to examine what I have done and what means in regards to the future.

Let’s do this!

What I have enjoyed most about the experience of this challenge is writing (almost) consistently for 10 days. That is a first for me. I have been very inconsistent with my past writing, usually doing it only when my muse whacked me with a mallet of emotional inspiration. I wish I had blogged all 10 days straight, but 7 days is a good start and I can’t put myself down for it. Now I know I can do it that much, I am looking for ways to keep up and build up that momentum.

My favorite challenge has to be challenge 9. It was the first time I ever considered the possibility of doing more with writing than gaining the ability to be my own boss and work from home. I wasn’t dreaming big enough, and maybe that’s why I haven’t pushed as hard as I should have. I was only working to meet a mediocre dream.

God doesn’t do mediocre, and if my goal is to share Him with the whole wide world, mediocre won’t do.

The biggest takeaway from this experience is the realization that my perception of freedom has been wrong, and that I have denied myself the ability to dream bigger dreams. I don’t have any desire to be rich; I do want my family to be comfortable and taken care of, and I want to help others by serving God. Unfortunately, I limited myself to only doing that from the cushy confines of my comfort zone. God never called us to be comfortable.

That leaves the most important question: What is the next step I’m going to take to make my freedom plan a reality? I am going to write more niche topics and I am going to find my first client. Networking and selling myself are my two biggest issues because they require the biggest shove against the confines of my bubbly comfort zone. I just have to remember that comfort zones are either growing or shrinking; they never stay the same and they never pop.

Thank you, Natalie, for the opportunity to discover a new vision of freedom!

So, dear friends, until our next adventure… Congratulations to all those who have finished and to those who are nearing the finish line! You are rock stars!
